I’m still around. Everything is going well with the baby. We will probably get an ultrasound around the middle of next month. Pants aren’t fitting anymore, at least not anything without a drawstring or elastic waistband. I’m not huge yet, but I’m also not gaining any weight…eating much better than I usually do.
I have been working on a few sewing projects. It feels good to get some things done, and using my fabric stash before I have to trim it down. I was even working on Chris’ sleeves…Year 5 may be the magic number. I hope to have at least 1 or 2 costuming updates on my regular website: www.raveness.com this week.
I saw Susie and a bunch of other costumers at work today and that really helped to pick up my day. Yes, baby mood swings are in full force. I love talking about costuming at work. I get so excited, and it’s really why I work at Haberman’s (and the employee discount, and boning, and silk, and wool, and linen…).
Friday I went to Cynnabar’s Wassail, and got to see a bunch of people that I haven’t seen in quite some time (I haven’t been going to meetings, because I’m sooo tired so early). Especially Greg & Michelle who moved to England. It was really great to see them again. Court was FABULOUS! Some ceremony, some beautiful entertainment, some really funny “drama”. We won’t mention getting to see the baron “Pole Dance”…
Oh, and I’m selling Avon now. They have some pretty good stuff.

So if you’ve read my regular website www.raveness.com you already know that I’m pregnant. Which, if you know, is why I’ve been so tired lately. I never realized why pregnant women were always so exhausted…it takes a lot of energy to make another human! I feel like I’m a living power plant who’s buttons and switches and dials are being constantly adjusted. Look for updates here: http://www.raveness.com/personal/baby/index.html I can’t wait to find out what sex the baby is going to be! Do I start making boy clothes, or girl clothes? I need to get cracking before next Renaissance Festival!
I’ve got all those projects, but when I get home, I just feel so tired and can’t seem to find the motivation to sew. I need to put a dvd or at least vcr upstairs near the sewing machine, so I can listen to my period films while I sew. With the video equipment in the basement, it doesn’t really work out for me. I guess I just have to move things around upstairs. But then I have to get motivated to clean. *sigh* Little Bella is a great motivator to sit and get comfortable…
Sorry it’s been forever since I’ve updated my live journal. Lots of stuff has been happening. Mostly, I had a little candle/Tea party for some close friends and family to just hang out. It was lots of fun. My friend Jackie at http://blog.myjaxon.com/ who had just found out she was pregnant (Yippie!) was able to come and hang out. I’m really glad she’s back in Michigan. I just hope the job market gets better so she can stay. I can’t wait to go to the other side of the state and see how she’s doing. I’m hoping she’s showing by next month so I can rub her tummy and make all sorts of mommy comments. It’s so weird to think that this girl I used to make dirty jokes with, outside of earshot of the adults, is going to be a mom. Wow, I guess that’s what getting old feels like. *gets out cane and gestures threateningly*
My wonderful husband gave me his cold which has taken about 2 weeks to get rid of, so I’m horribly behind on our Halloween costumes. But this is why I started them in August. http://www.raveness.com/costuming/general/imadegeneral4.html
I’m really going to try to get many of my sewing projects finished by the end of this year. The Halloween costumes, my 16th C. Turkish, my 18th C. jacket(either one), my 18th C. stays. Let’s see if it actually happens. Oh, and let’s not forget the what, 5 years now, of Chris’ lack of sleeves…
I’m just happy today. I woke up really early (why can’t I do that on week days?) and went for a 2.5 mile round-trip walk to get dunkin-doughnuts coffee. I could have gone a few blocks and gotten a 7-11, but decided to go for the long walk. It felt good. I’m really surprised that my allergies and asthma aren’t acting up as much. Allergist has me doing a sinus flush (I do it about every other day or so, unless it’s bad, then I do it more) and on Allegra and Flonase. It seems to be working well for my outdoor allergies (allegra doesn’t seem to help my dust allergies, but the flonase helps with that). But it’s not like I’m going to be mowing the lawn anytime soon, but I don’t have to roast in the house when a neighbor down the street mows and I have to bottle up in the house. Let’s just hope this happy little trend stays this way. Happy. ;D
