Superbowl Whine

Is the Superbowl over yet?
I normally hate this time of year because our store gets this “sewing retreat” going on superbowl sunday, and we’re super-busy, understaffed, the news sometimes covers it, and women end up fighting over a fabric that was just used in a demonstration. If that wasn’t bad enough, it doesn’t even cover the superbowl. I mean, the store closes before the superbowl starts on TV so I go home and get tortured more. What makes it worse is that it’s in Detroit, which I have to drive through to get to work and there is sooo much hype, every road has been under construction until now (so they will all fail in 8 years at the same time), and now Telegraph has this stupid bridge that is vaguely football shaped with footballs on it, in Lion’s blue. And the LIONS SUCK. It’s not even our team in the stupid game. Our team doesn’t even have a snowball’s chance in hell at getting into the superbowl, not now, not for the last decade, not for the next decade. And the week after next we’ll still be staring at that stupid bridge. It’s not even really a bridge, it’s an OVERPASS! Stupidest thing ever. Couldn’t they have spent that money in the schools? At least in the driver’s ed. classes?

Garb on the brain

There is nothing better to get you enthusiastic about sewing garb than getting together with a bunch of Garb Divas and looking at fabric and coming up with totally yummy ideas! Now if I can just finish cataloging my fabric so I know what I can make!

Plague Victim

I was just getting over my sinus infection when Chris picked it up and wouldn’t go to the doctor so he gave it back to me and now I have it worse than before! Why do men think that because they have testosterone that they don’t need to go to the doctor. I have balls therfore I don’t need antibiotics?!? Why can’t they be considerate of the people they live with, and keep up at night because of their caughing, congestion and snoring? My lack of sleep from waking up 3 times a night to a loud jack hammer in my ear didn’t help me fight this off. Grr. I just want this fever to stop. I want my nose to stop leaking and to stop coughing. You’d think I’d be used to being sick by now. I can’t even get anything done around the house because I start coughing again. I can’t tell if the antibiotics are doing anything but making me nautious. I just wish Chris would get home. I hate being alone when I’m sick, and since it is his fault, he’s probably not going to be any worse for taking care of me. Just put the big sign on my door that says “Plague Victim Inside, Beware”.
At least it isn’t a horribly high fever…the pixies haven’t come yet…oh, they won’t leave me alone once they’ve come…Dance inside your eyelids they do, when your temp gets above 101…
