It’s snowing! WTF? I didn’t even need to wear a coat today.

I need to work on my UBC (Under-Bust Corset, but the pattern calls it a corselette) for the steampunk outfit, but I’m afraid to work on it with Mr Grabby Hands around…I also need to clean up some of the other steamy projects I was working on so Mr Grabby Hands can’t get into too much trouble if I do get to do a bit of sewing…
It doesn’t help that CJ woke up with a nightmare last night at almost 4 am…sooo tired. It really doesn’t help my procrastination…
What the heck is up with the easy listening Kenny G at the end of Castlevania Symphony of the Night?!?!
I took the steampunk style quiz. It’s pretty accurate. I like it.
I think the thing that appeals to me most about steampunk is that it’s based in a period I don’t re-enact, but have an interest in, and I can use my imagination, I’m not trying to recreate something that actually existed. It’s clearly fantasy with historical aspects. Perfect…and the style reminds me of my Papa’s garage and his radio room with all the little gears and diodes and stuff. We once made a crystal radio out of stuff he had lying around. I miss my Papa.
I’ll try to post pics of my design sketch soon. And the pics of my progress…I altered the corselet pattern last night.

Your result for The Steampunk Style Test…
The Ragamuffin
21% Elegant, 45% Technological, 20% Historical, 44% Adventurous and 60% Playful!
You are the Ragamuffin, the embodiment of steampunk playfulness. Chances are, you approach the genre from a much more casual and lighthearted standpoint than most other fans. To you, there is always an element of play inherent in the genre, and you may very well enjoy fashion as much for the opportunity to dress up as for the style itself. You probably wear goggles as an accessory, and rarely as actual eye-protection. Your outfits are likely to incorporate a lot of brown or cream, and combine large boots, Victorian corsets or vests, aviator caps or bowler hats, and gypsy skirts or slacks, simply because you like them all.

CJ has been doing well. I’ve been doing pretty good. Been thinking about doing a steampunk outfit for GenCon…Let’s see how far it gets.
