Ok, so Chris is making his own regimental coat with my instruction. He’s doing really well at it. So I set him to pin up these complicated sleeve cuffs, and I hear swearing "^%#@#* pins…OW! **&^^%$&$" He poked himself with a pin…so I tell him "Bleed into the seam allowance." He was puzzled. I told him. "Fabric calls for Blood, everyone who sews worth a d@mn knows this." Then for a while after that every time I heard him yell that he had been poked, I’d call out "FABRIC CALLS FOR A BLOOD SACRIFICE!" in my best creepy scooby doo villan voice. Then we started theorizing about women sitting around the fire, sewing animal skins togeather with bone needles giving small sacrifices…
Then I’m watching the 1930s Robin Hood, and this "saxon" woman gets attacked by evil knights while her dad is tied up and beaten…I just yelled at the screen "Serves you right for using cotton broad cloth in your costumes!" and Chris is like, "D@mn, punishments are harsh in Trisha Land for costuming offences. I find you guilty of cheap cotton! In with the royal abusers."
OMG! It was soooo good. Mom and I saw the first showing at the Southgate MJR at 7pm today. It was Sooooooo good. I like the alternate time line they put it on…and it made sense. Not like the time travel crap in Enterprise.
