Placket or Modesty Panel:
Plackets, or Modesty Panels are used in costuming to keep the area behind the hook and eyes or lacing from exposing the wearer or their undergarments. While these are not found in period gowns, they are often used in modern costuming.
A placket is an opening in a garment or the overlapping layers of fabric that cover or disguise such an opening. ~From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
