The kirtle is made with a purple and gold brocade from Haberman Fabrics‘ Home Decor department. The front is one piece, the back is split down the center back in a V shape for fitting, and it laces up at the sides. The bodice is flat lined with a cotton herringbone, and lined with a linen blend. The skirt is sewn to the bodice and lined with a linen blend. The bottom guard is a gold colored jacquard fabric folded in half lengthwise, pressed and sewn to the hem. It should be easily removable for changing. The sleeves are made from the same fabric as the guard, and lined with cotton. They are hand basted to the armscye of the kirtle.

The wool doublet is hand sewn except for the buttonholes. It’s made the same way as the red one, but I omitted the lining, and I may go back and baste in a lining. I’m thinking either an embroidered linen, or silk dupioni or something.

I wore it for Cynnabar’s Baronial Champions Revel on April 25th 2010. It was raining. I figured the green gown would have just soaked up all the rain and would have been miserable. I had a lot of fun (even if CJ didn’t let me stay long).
