Edward VI

Ok, so I think I’m going to be able to go to Cynnabar’s Wassail this year, and CJ isn’t fitting into his doublet anymore…so I broke out the Edward VI outfit I was working on for CJ when I found out I was going to have a boy… FOR MORE CLICK HERE…

Brilliant!

My son is brilliant!
When he goes wee wee in thepotty, he gets to put a penny in his piggy bank. So, he went wee wee in the potty this morning and I helped him (since he was still sleepy and a thumb was in the mouth, and Eeyore was in the other hand) put the penny in the bank and I shook it and said "Yea!" like normal. He reached for the bank, took it, looked at me and said "In the bank." He’s 16 months old! That’s just over a year and 1/4! Brilliant!
We were watching Super Why and they spelled door so they could open a door, and when she said door, and it opened he (was watching and I was going along Dee-Oh-Oh-Rrrr and stuff. Anyway, when she opened the door and said door, he did too. Really clearly "DOOR". W00T!

Birthday

Ok, so today is my 30th birthday. I was having kind of a crappy day and (well only little bright spots here and there) CJ was rummaging around in my stuff like usual while I was trying to get ready to go to work. I was all in a hurry when I called for him, we were running late, and he came up to me holding a 3 year old anniversary card out for me. Sure, he didn’t get me a birthday card, but he was the first one to get me A card on my birthday. He’s 15 months old (that’s 1 1/4 years old), and the most thoughtful one. My mom had a cake and a present for me at her house which was really cool, but really, nothing is going to top that card held out to me by my little boy right when I was feeling the crappiest.
We both still have a little head cold. His nose is running like crazy, my head is all stuffed up.

I’m feeling better the last couple days. I think it’s because I was sleeping better, and CJ was whining a little less. He’s also been trying to spend quality Mom time with me. What I mean by that, is he’s been climbing into my lap and just sitting there with me instead of climbing over me and pulling on things and in-out-in-out of my lap, and whacking me with his toys. Him sitting with me makes me feel SO much better. Like he might actually think I’m a person instead of Mommybot 3000. Ok, so it’s not just CJ thinking I’m Mommybot 3000, daddy too and I think we had our longest conversation last night in about a month. Sure it lasted only about 30 minutes…but man. He’s been so damn whiny lately. I’m not going to go into it now or I’ll just get madder… *deep breaths* Like I need 2 whiny Christophers… Why couldn’t I be gay? I wouldn’t have to deal with men. *sigh*

Thanks

I’m really seriously not myself if I don’t get decent sleep. Yesterday I had not gotten decent sleep, and I think CJ was actually coming down (first) with the same cold that Daddy & I were developing yesterday. CJ seems to be feeling much better today (no whining yet) and so am I.

My Dad (er, now called “Poppy”) always could tell when I wasn’t feeling good if I didn’t want to eat (I like food, see my ‘spare tire’), so it surprised Chris when I came home from work and I didn’t say “I’m SO hungry!” rather, I had the side dish (a bowl of rice with a little butter and garlic) and a cup of tea. My tummy still isn’t back to normal, but if this is what CJ was feeling yesterday, I could see how he would be whiny but playing normal. I think it’s like a stomach bug or something. I feel great, but my nose is stuffy (Daddy’s is running constantly), and my tummy is upset so I don’t want to eat much, but I want to keep something on it (which is probably why CJ would eat a little every few hours yesterday) to keep it calm. And then there’s the other end of the situation which I won’t go into, I’ll just say the bathroom door is shut with the window open for a reason.

Since the car accident in Wisconsin, we’ve been a 1 car house, which especially made me feel trapped yesterday, since we live 45-1hr away from Daddy’s work, with no direct public transportation route. It’s Detroit, we have cars, not mass public transportation!!! *sigh* Anyway, I called Mom and asked her to pick us up early, my parents have been picking us up and bringing us to their house, and then after lunch dropping me off at work (I can walk the 1/2 mile, but with the heat, mom doesn’t want me getting there dripping wet, I’m not complaining too much).

So yesterday, going to work, then after the rush, the office was quiet and empty and I woke up with my head on the desk (about 15 minute nap). After the drowsiness wore off and the lack of whining sunk in, I felt much better. Power naps are fabulous. CJ went to bed fairly easily at 8, and woke up early at 6:45, but he wasn’t whining and ate well. He kept trying to go back to bed after he woke up, but I made him stay up a little and play until he just grabbed Eeyore and sat in my lap. He’s probably going to wake up soon. But while he napped, I got to look for a pattern that I’ve used before (I need to work on some model doggy garments for the store, to promote my classes) and I went through a bunch of stuff, looking for a small Haberman’s bag with the pattern, and fabric in it, from a project I was going to do years ago, but didn’t. While I was looking, I found my in-progress red Margo’s corset, a coif pattern I’ve been thinking about making, my hat pattern, (minus instructions), and….the original Sleeve Pieces for Daddy’s Doublet! And they were in HIS stuff… the sleeves I made for him, were the 2nd sleeves that I cut out… Maybe I’ll embroider on these or something. Yea!!! And where was the little Haberman bag with the pattern and fabric? Right on top of a chair I’ve walked past like 17 times this morning! (I think the faeries or St. Anthony or someone is trying to help me out today. I appreciate it.)

So thanks to those of you who commented yesterday and made me feel not so alone.
