Last week Bella had a really bad fall. I thought she had died, she seized up and was paralyzed for a little bit, all she could do was blink. She got better and was almost normal by the time I could get her to the vet. Now she’s having some problems and I’m just worried that if it’s not a UTI (which she’s on antibiotics for), that we’d have to put her to sleep. I don’t know if I could bear to put my little girl down. I introduce her as my first child. She’s the little girl who I’ll probably never have. She acts like it too. She knows she’s my little girl and likes to be dressed up. God I hope it’s just an infection. Which brings up the thought that even if she does get better, I’m still going to have to let her go. And after Minit’s departure earlier this year, it’s probably not going to be as far off as I’d hoped. I try not to think about it, but it’s hard. I’ve constantly got this in the back of my mind, and my dad’s words to me about my dog Cinde when I was a kid ring in my head “One day you’re going to wake up with a dead dog at the end of your bed.” But then I also remember that Dad told me that when I was around 10 years old, and Cinde was 5…Cinde had to be put to sleep the week after my first wedding anniversary Cinde was 18… But you know what. Ever since he said that, I have never slept as soundly…I always wake up when I hear the dog move (or when Chris makes a sound like the dog) for fear that the dog will be dead at the end of my bed. Thanks dad. I just hope Bella will be ok, and I’ll just wake up in 10 years with a little old Bella dog wanting me to dress her in her faux fur coat to go outside.

CJ and Daddy let me sleep in a little bit. Chris took the dog out before we got ready to go out to breakfast. I found a leather padded weight belt for my heavy fighting armor in my size for the price I was looking to spend (on sale for $20). I wore one of my ‘bethan corsets for chest protection for heavy fighting today. I got some great tips on fighting from a couple of knights, some squires and fought with another lady fighter. She understood the need to take out husband aggression… it was wonderful. I learned so much today. CJ was a good boy when I came home and my in-laws came over for a while (and Chris’ friends were over too) my in-laws kept an eye on CJ for us while they were here and shortly after he went to sleep. I got to talk about George Martin’s Song of Ice and Fire series with Kendra (Chris’ buddy’s wife) and got her thinking about a few things she hadn’t considered. Watched fun superbowl commercials. Watched the last 2 game minutes which were pretty interesting (I’m not a football fan, but I’ll watch the end if it’s interesting, not like Lions games)(Congratulations Giants). Got to work on early period garb for Val day.
Now if the rest of the week would feel this good, I might be able to break out of this stupid depression $#!+.
Bella went to the vet yesterday, she had digestive problems and the beginning of an ear infection. Nothing too serious. She got meds and now she’s feeling a lot better.
You can tell she still misses her sister, but she’s not constantly moping anymore, which I think has a lot to do with her digestive problems. I can’t blame her. We should have named them Ying and Yang they were so different and yet so alike.
Anyway, time to give her her meds again, they are for 4, 5, and 10 days. Then I’m going to see if I can work on the garb a little more before I sneak off to bed. Heaven knows when I’ll be able to work on it during the week.
Yesterday I put CJ on the potty for the first time, and HE WENT WEE WEE IN THE POTTY!!! Ok, this by NO means that he’s potty trained, but that he went at the right time, it was soo cool! Jackie thinks it was a fluke, but then he did it again! 2 times in a row! Ok, so the 3rd time, he was like “Too late mom, look in the diaper.” And this morning, he was like, “Dude, you were late again.” But this afternoon, POW! Wee wee in the potty AGAIN!
I’m so excited. It’s a very exciting time for Momma and Daddy and CJ and the potty! I’m still learning when he goes, when he’s making motions that he’s got to go and that sort of thing. But if he’s just woke up from a nap, good chance he’s about to go…unless you get there too late, or he’s just been up and quiet biting on Bear the bedtime dog’s ear, or Tigger’s tail…
Tooth count, 4 on top, 2 1/2 on bottom. And he’s grinding his teeth.
It’s like fingernails on the chalkboard to me.
On another note, Bella still thinks that Gidget is a punk kid and wants to be left alone. Every once in a while, I find Bella looking around Nana’s house for Minit. You know it’s her she’s looking for because it’s where Little Shit would hide, or do bad things to the carpet, or both. Last night she let us brush her…even her paws. Bella HATES being brushed. She’s lonesome. She’s going to need to get groomed very soon…she looks horrible, but her coat is warm, and it’s sooooo very cold here.
Fighting stuff: Dad stripped my sword and I re-taped it with about 1/2 the tape that was on it before. There was so much duct tape on it, that when we took the duct tape off, the trash was heavier… I had my shield cut out of plywood when I first started getting into Fighting, and I had the hand guard, but we just never put it togeather. So, Dad and I screwed the hand guard on, made an arm strap, primered it, and we’re almost done putting the tubing around the edge. Heating it with the heat-gun sure helps to get it around those edges. We’re using zip ties to secure it. I figure it’s more secure than a lot of things and about as accurate as duct tape. I purchased the canvas for the coat of plates (modified wisby maybe), and the steel. It’s rather thin, but I’ll be wearing other stuff too. Possibly a corset (a helluvalotta steel in mine). I’ll at least have a mostly finished sword (it was so heavy before) and sheild for fighter practice on Sunday. Enough to practice with anyway. YIPPIE!
