So this past Saturday we had Daddy Chris’ surprise birthday party (his birthday isn’t until Friday), and a bunch of his friends came and we played card games and had a great time.
I know he REALLY enjoyed seeing and spending an evening with his buds. He seemed a lot more chilled out afterward. I know he needed some time with friends and not worrying about CJ (thanks for taking CJ for the night Grandma!).
CJ is 2 and acting like it. He got sent to bed for talking back to Momma. I am SO not going to be one of those Moms who lets their kids tell them what to do.
He was with Grandma & Grandpa on his actual Birthday, but we had a joint birthday party with my niece Grace the week after. It was very cool. He now likes the word “presents”.
Thank you to my DH and our families and especially to Jackie, Jesse and Ian (who hosted) and our other friends who made it to my surprise party, it was great.
Also thanks to everyone who’s wished me a Happy Birthday after my last post.
I still can’t. It’s 12:30, and I can’t get to sleep. I still feel like crap from this stupid head cold. And I feel about as emotional as a lump of coal. I want to cry just because it’s something, because I want to feel anything at all right now. Maybe this will all be better in the morning…oh wait, it’s morning-ish. I want to sleep but sleep won’t come. Really I want to curl up in a ball, and what? I don’t know. I don’t really care.
Ok, so today is my 30th birthday. I was having kind of a crappy day and (well only little bright spots here and there) CJ was rummaging around in my stuff like usual while I was trying to get ready to go to work. I was all in a hurry when I called for him, we were running late, and he came up to me holding a 3 year old anniversary card out for me. Sure, he didn’t get me a birthday card, but he was the first one to get me A card on my birthday. He’s 15 months old (that’s 1 1/4 years old), and the most thoughtful one. My mom had a cake and a present for me at her house which was really cool, but really, nothing is going to top that card held out to me by my little boy right when I was feeling the crappiest.
We both still have a little head cold. His nose is running like crazy, my head is all stuffed up.
