Ok, CJ’s Edward the 6th outfit is now done…I hemmed it last night. And I also ripped out the skirt & hooks & eyes from the Green Gown, added grommets to the back (I need to go over them with thread), and pinned the skirt up.
Today I stitched the skirt on. I just need to check out the sleeves and what I need to do to those. I may add a modesty panel to the back under the lacing. We’ll see what I have time for. I still have to GM tonight’s game. I’ll have a bit of time to work on it tomorrow morning while Daddy is taking his Microsoft certification test.
I can’t forget my hat this time.
Ok, so this afternoon I brought CJ’s Edward VI outfit with us to try on him to see if it needs any major changes, and to see that I have the hem marked in about the right spot so I can actually hem it… OMG was it SO cute!!!! I have photos, they are on my phone, and for some reason I can’t get the microSD card to read at my parents house…*shrug* So when I get home tonight, I’m going to add a post with photos… I am SO getting portraits done with him in this outfit. It does make me want to do one of the 6 wives…right now I have to settle for what I have. I need to edit an outfit for this weekend after I get the hem done tonight. I’m just going to pin and zip it through the machine, I’m not messing with a hand done edge…maybe I’ll try using the machine for a blind hem…
Now, do I want to use the Green Dress, or the Ropa for this weekend? Or do I use something else with the ropa?

9:30pm Update
I decided to make up a page rather than just flood a post with it. But here’s a hint.

Sewing stuff that I would like to get done by my birthday:
This is all about the Bristol Gown (which I’ll wear the day after my birthday to MiRF assuming it’s not raining or a heat wave).
Make a partlet (blackworked preferrably, by machine probably)
Finish my blackworked coif (I’ve been working on it at work, but I forgot it at home today)
Resolve the shoulder issues
Add shoulder rolls (the ones I wanted to use, I think may to small of scale for me)
Add points to attach the sleeves
Shorten the sleeves if need be
Try it on with a fuller farthingale
See about changing how the skirt is attached, or making it a skirt and bodice
Now that I’ve finished the model garments for my two upcoming doggie clothing classes at Haberman’s, I can devote some naptime to getting these issues resolved. I do have the sewing machine in the dining room with prett much nothing else, until Chris moves his den to the basement so I can take it over. The den is really this teeny tiny bedroom…but I’ll take anything I can put a baby gate on right now, but still be close enough to hear/see the little one. Chris really wants to move the den downstairs too, so he can hide in the basement, be on the computer and watch tv at the same time… We need to really scrub the basement.
Bristol was lots of fun. I’ve got an update at my website www.trishstuff.com

I needed to take a break and get away from the sewing machines for a minute. Mom has CJ for the afternoon so I can work on my dress. Yesterday I finished the neckline edge of the smock at work, by hand. Last night, I finished attaching the straps, and I sewed the skirt panels togeather. Today I got some more black velveteen so I can do the guards and the front. I washed it and attached the trim to the front guards and attached the guards to the front of the skirt pieces. Now I need to attach the skirt to the bodice. After trying on the bodice the other night, I discovered that it is touching in the back, so I’m going to do hook and eyes up the back instead of lacing. I found my hook and eye tape, and some decorative hook and eyes as well. I used my green nail polish to go over the white hook and eyes, and I also did a little “enameling” on the decorative ones. I’ll need to attach those…probably as soon as I get off the computer, then I can go and figure out the skirt placement. I’ve also got to do the shoulder rolls and make a decision on the forepart (if it’s going to get done or not).
Need to zen-out and calm back down. Tea…I’ll make tea and light a candle, I can do both of those things because Baby will not be here to try to tea-stain the carpet…more…or burn himself in the pretty glowey thing. Momma sometimes can’t help but burn herself on the pretty glowey thing, so I’m not even going to try with the little one.
Pictures later…sewing now.
