And the wool bruegel is DONE! The partlet I made for it last night, is DONE. The smock, is 99% done. I could wear it as is, but I want to hem the cuffs and tack down the neck facing. Yay! I’ll be warm this weekend!
I added the skirt to the bodice yesterday, (made the entire smock the day before), Dad soldered the brass wire rings for me so they wouldn’t have that little cut in them, and this morning I sewed them in as lacing rings on the dress and the partlet.
This morning I found my wool mitts. I just need to find my shoes I’ll be wearing this weekend, and my apron, and put everything in the car. YAY!
So when I was at Bristol, I noticed something that I think made a big difference in making the girls look “Right”. Collars, not necessarily ruffs, but I think 90% of them were wearing something that came up to the neck, many had ruffs, but not all. I think that really makes a big difference. I need to work on a partlet with a ruffle at the collar.
Really I also need to work on the changes I mention in my dress diary, and I need to clean my house. I’ve just been so depressed lately I don’t really want to touch anything. Everything makes me mad. I’m tired all the time (no, I’m not pregnant). And CJ is constantly either wanting me to hold him, or he finds some way of getting himself into trouble. *sigh* I actually wanted a child…what the hell was I thinking? I should have gotten another dog. I can’t tell CJ to kennel up…well, if I had Bandit’s kennel I could, I hear he likes to follow him in there. *sigh* I’m sure CJ will be fine, or rather we’ll get along better when he’s like 5 and able to play nicely by himself and doesn’t try to eat EVERYTHING that he’s not supposed to, and eats things he IS supposed to.
Ok, happy thought time. Pretty garb. Big dresses.
I’m getting a really bad headache. Forsooth (that’s my new “F” word).
Man I’m b1+c#y today.
