18th Century Stays

These half-boned stays are made from a simplicity pattern, 3635. I changed it so that the center front piece was a stomacher with lacing over top. (Kind of like the one at the Germanischen National Museum) It’s made from a off white canvas with black bias binding and thick zip ties from Home Depot. The stomacher is fully boned with regular zip ties and made from canvas and a embroidered velveteen.

Then for theĀ Historical Sew Monthly, May 2015 Practicality challenge I made a set of Linen/Cotton blend stays, slightly modified from the Elizabethan Corset Pattern Generator.
