This is a houppeland I made originally for my Mom to wear. I made a simple cotehardie to go underneath with a gold and cream brocade guard around the bottom and at the sleeves. The houppe is made as semi-circles with the apex being at the center of the collar and at the top of the arm. I learned later about Cynthia Virtue’s method, which works beautifully btw.

gregfrontI created Greg and Michelle’s wedding clothes. I used CV’s method on Greg’s Houppelande and it worked out really well.

Hello! I’ve been all over the internet researching medieval garb with plans to make a houppelande and I’m actually looking for a purple brocade-like fabric just like the one you used for your mom’s! Can you share where you found that fabric?? I am having the hardest time finding anything purple!! You all look great!
