By Kumagae TAKAHARA

A Tokyo security guard is being held on second-degree murder charges for the hand-to-hand death of a man at the Tokyo National Museum's entrance.

Kuroishi Rei, 20, who was on duty at the time, is accused in the April 2 death of Akazaki Minoru, 22.

Investigators have quoted Kuroishi as saying she was pursuing Akazaki who was running out of the building and refused orders to surrender.

Police said Kuroishi was trying to get Akazaki to stop when the two began fighting.

Officers also said the guard felt threatened by a second man who was not found at the scene.
